We define inclusion and diversity in wide-ranging aspects including but not limited to:

- Color
- Creed
- Culture
- Disability
- Ethnicity
- Gender

- Language
- Learning and communication style
- Life experience
- Marital status
- Personal strength and weakness
- Race and Multiracial
- Religious belief
- Sexual orientation
- Underserved*
- Underrepresented**
*Underserved are students who have been traditionally excluded from full participation in our society and its institutions. The basis of exclusion has primarily been race and color including African Americans/Black, Asian, Hispanic, American Indian and multiracial. (Minnesota State Strategic Diversity Plan).
**Underrepresented are students that include “Underserved” students plus first generation and low income students. (For example, males may be considered underrepresented in the paralegal profession due to the fact that it is traditionally female.) (Minnesota State Strategic Diversity Plan).
