Gregory J. Rose is an East Coast native transplanted in the Midwest. Formally educated at The Pennsylvania State University, Gregory received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in 2000 and his Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) from the University of Minnesota in 2004—both degrees with a concentration in Drawing and Painting.
Gregory has been an arts educator since 2003. He has exhibited locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. Namely known as a painter, Gregory has been a creative force working in art education, music (voice- over artist) in community engagement. Internationally, he is an active member of GAP (Global Arts Project), an international social media collective.
Gregory’s curatorial practices include curating Change is God: Take Root Among the Stars: Black Abstraction in the Midwest held at the Soo Visual Arts Center in Minneapolis. He also serves on Soo Visual Arts Center Curatorial Board.
